Vladimir Putin and Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte agreed on close cooperation in the fight against Coronavirus.
Russia and Italy discussed the situation caused by the coronavirus pandemic and the measures against spread of this infection in both countries.
Vladimir Putin expressed his support to the Italian people and the Italian leadership for the extremely difficult epidemiological situation in the country. Conte thanked Russia for taking steps to help.
“In response to the request from the Italian side, the Russian president has reaffirmed his readiness to provide promptly the necessary assistance ” – the Kremlin’s press office says.
On March 22, eight brigades of military virologists and medics arrived in Italy by aircraft of the Russian Air Force, transporting aerosol disinfection kits, as well as medical equipment.
