So he stands ready to work with Congress, and that\u2019s an idea that\u2019s certainly worth considering,\u201d she added.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, the national average price for a gallon of gas is $4.983, down slightly from previous highs upward of $5 per gallon, according to the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/gasprices.aaa.com\/\">American Automobile Association<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sens. Maggie Hassan (D-N.H.) and Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.) already introduced legislation in February to temporarily suspend the federal gas tax until January.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhat I\u2019ve been pushing for is, among other things, suspending the gas tax. That helps put some more money back in people\u2019s pockets,\u201d Hassan previously told Fox News. \u201cI\u2019m pushing the administration to support that.
