Within 2017, the trade turnover between Georgia and Russia increased by 33%

According to the data provided by the Georgian National Statistics Office,  during January – April of the current year, the  trade turnover between Georgia and Russia increased by 33,3%   in comparison to the analogical indicator of the Year 2016 and, made 341 MIO USD.

The export in Russia of the products manufactured in Georgia, increased by 2,3 times and reached at 125,2 MIO USA, that was s conditioned by supplies of ferroalloys, wines, other alcohol drinks, as well as mineral waters, and nuts, to the Russian market. 

As to the import of the products of Russian origin, which mainly  consisted of  the oil and oil-products, wheat, natural gas, and the food products, increased by 7% and reached at 216,3 MIO USD.

According to the GEOSTAT, the share of Russia in the foreign trade turnover of Georgia, which is the second trading partner of Georgia after Turkey, made 11% (7,8%  in 2016).

Among the top ten trade partners of Georgia are also: Azerbaijan n (8,8%), China (7,3%), Germany (5,1%), Ukraine (4,6%), Armenia (4,5%), USA (3,8%), Bulgaria  (3,4%) and Italy (2,7%).

The trading turnover with the CIS countries increased by 35% and reached at 1,26 billion USD, while the trading turnover with the EU increased by 19% (849, 4 MIO USD.
