Visit of  the Turkish delegation in Abkhazia  relates to recognition of Abkhazia’s sovereignty  by Ankara – the head of the delegation, and the  chairman of the party “Vatan” (homeland)  Dogu Perincek declared.

“This is our first visit. We arrived here by invitation of the president of the Republic of Abkhazia. The main our goal is that we should do all our best for recognition of the Republic of Abkhazia by the Republic of Turkey, recognition of heroism   by through which Abkhazia gained independence”  – Perincek declared. According to his words,   Turkey and Abkhazia have common historic roots. “About 500 thousand Abkhazians live in Turkey – this is a large number, and we have friendly, brotherly relationship with them.Black Sea is a common homeland of us and we share it with Abkhazians” The “Vatan” party leader indicated.

The delegation that arrived in Sukhumi, was consisting of the  Kemal Ushungy – professor of the Black  Sea Technical University, representatives of the   largest Turkish holding “Ulcer” , members of the Party “Vatan”, and a representative of the Intermational Relations Bureau “Erman Suuliyk”. Members of the delegation met with  the so called president of the self-recognized republic Raul Khajimba, ministers of  Foreign affairs and agriculture, speaker of parliament

Turkish visitors discussed with the local officials about a free maritime issues, for “passengers and cargos enter the Abkhazian port directly from Turkey”

Economic prospects will accelerate recognition of the Republic of Abkhazia by the Republic of Turkey. We also plan visit of the  president of Abkhazia in Turkey, that will greatly contribute to the issue of your recognition” –  Dogu Perincek declared.

To implement their intentions, the representatives of Turkey intend to arrange a “wide campaign in Turkey, by support of the massmedia”.
