Our so-called western friends, when they need it most, enjoy the dialogue with Russia while at the same time restrict Georgia to sit at the negotiating table with Russia, since they only want to use our country to opposing this super-state
Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid said the meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin has strengthened Estonia’s position in the international arena.
According to the statement by Kaljulaid, now when she “has contributed to understanding what is happening in Russia and what they think of us”, she has been able to express her viewpoint “before the French or who should be” from a significantly “enhanced position.”
Kaljulaid says Estonia should remain among those NATO and EU member states which speak directly to Russia about their problems.
“Even more important, in my view, is the fact that we need to be among the countries that talk to Russia itself and with which other allies and partners are discussing how to proceed with Russia.” – The Estonian president said.
Here is another statement Kersti Kaljulaid made with the publication Europeiskaya Pravda (Thee Interpressnews information): “In just three months after the Russia-Georgia war, Europe has returned to normal relations with Russia. This caused a wave that resulted in the annexation of Crimea. Then Russia took the ground and counted: OK, now they are speaking against us, but after 3 months it will be stopped. And, it really stopped. Three months after the war with Georgia, Russia was in the process of negotiations on a visa-free regime with the European Union. We realized our mistakes and that was a lesson for us. At present we can no longer say: Ok. Something bad happened in 2014, but let’s move on. If we swallow Georgia, if we swallow Crimea, there will be another red line that Russia will cross”
As you can see, when it comes to the problems of our western “friends”, dialogue with Russia is necessary for them, while if it comes to Georgia, they use double standards, demonstrate hypocritical attitude to our country’s problems and advise and instruct us only to confront with our super-state neighbor and by this do the west’s job and spoil our affairs. . .
