According to the studies conducted by TBC Capital, 8% of the apartments sold in Tbilisi in the first half of 2019, falls on citizens of foreign countries. A trend of purchase of apartments in Tbilisi by foreigners during 2015 – 2018 is being increasing steadily. To this end, the highest indicator was fixed in 2018, when the foreigners purchased 13% of the total number of the sold apartments, to compare with 3% the same indicator in 2015. There is a significant increase in purchase of the apartments in Tbilisi by Iranian citizens: Among the foreigners who purchased apartments it Tbilisi, thee Iranians’ share was 2%, in in 2016 – 8%, in 2017 – 27%, while in 2018 – 61%.
Number of purchases of apartments in Tbilisi by the citizens of Russia, is decreased. In 2015, their share in the total number of foreigners who bought the apartments in Tbilisi, was 42%, in 2016 – 32%, in 2017 – 22%, and in 2018 – 10%.
From 2015 up today, 42% of a total number of apartments sold to foreigners, falls on Iranians, 18% – on Russians, and 11% – on representatives of different European countries.
